How To: Add or Move ZenCart Products and Categories Print E-mail

Inventory Source can automatically add all product data and images, including the category structure for your dropship products.  We can apply the update daily for new dropship product loading and updates to the price, quantity, and status for all of your products on your Zen Cart site.  If you are not using our services for your ZenCart products or want to change you category structure then this guide will help you.

1-      From your ZenCart admin, to add a new category, start by selecting the Categories/Products from the Catalog menu.

2-      Click the New Category button and then fill in the details. Click the Save button at the bottom of the data entry area when complete.

3-      To add a subcategory, click on the folder icon in front of the category name. On the new page repeat the process for adding a category.

4-      To delete a category, click the X icon in the Action column.
Warning: deleting a category will remove all subcategories and products! You can either confirm removal or cancel the action on the next page in the event you select this option in error.

5-      Creating a new product is done following similar steps (the admin menu options will make more sense the more changes you make or if you have osCommerce or CRE Loaded platform experience): click the New product button to the right of the New Category button.

6-      Enter the preferred product details. At this point, you can also upload an image. When done, please click the Preview button at the top/bottom of the page. That will show the product preview.

7-      Click the Insert button to proceed, or Back to continue editing the item.

8-      To move a product to a new category you need to move the item under the desired category. To do that click the purple 'm' icon at the end of the row in the Action column.

9-      You will be prompted to select the category for a dropdown menu on the right. After selecting the correct category, click the Move button below.
