Dropship Product Marketplaces & Compare Tools Print E-mail

Regardless of if you are new to ecommerce or a more experienced seller, you should consider promoting your products on 3rd party marketing sites and comparison shopping programs.  You can still promote your products through some of these services, even if you do not have an ecommerce website.  These sites consolidate products from many different merchants and resellers and add value with comparisons, reviews, and other content to a wide base of user traffic. They are helpful to consumers because they allow them to find and compare products more easily then search on their own.  This naturally makes them helpful to merchants looking to promote their own site or sell products.

You can list products in manually on these sites, but many marketplaces allow the bulk import of product data from "data feeds," such as the InventorySource.com custom files, which are simply files that contain a listing of your products. Data feeds contain standardized information in a specific format, and can contain product data and possibly links back to your ecommerce site or your shipping and payment methods. This makes it easy for merchants to keep their product listings on the shopping site up to date.

I have included a brief summary of some of the most common comparison shopping sites or their tools.  There is no universal “right choice” with these services.  You should evaluate each one and test the site’s usability, as well as comparing inclusion fees and features.

 1.   Amazon Marketplace- If you want access to instant traffic, take advantage of the large user base of Amazon for bulk listing your own products to Amazon Marketplace and its product searching tools.    http://www.amazon.com/gp/seller-account/management/your-account.html/104-0268984-2539939

2.   Dealio-  It is a comparison shopping site with listings appearing in a sidebar sorted by lowest price.  Listings link directly to your product page.  Also offers a downloadable toolbar which can send customers to your products when they view product pages on other sites.   http://www.dealio.com/merchants/program.html

3.    eBay File Exchange- eBay File Exchange is an end-to-end selling tool that enables high-volume sellers to list multiple items on eBay in a single file. Only qualified users can use File Exchange for bulk importing their products.   http://pages.ebay.com/file_exchange/

4.   eBay Turbo Lister- eBay Turbo Lister is a free listing tool to help you create professional-looking listings and upload thousands of items in bulk to eBay.  Any eBay user can list with this tool.   http://pages.ebay.com/turbo_lister/

5.   Google Base-   Many users are familiar with Froogle, but Google Base is the new offering from Google. It is dedicated to helping shoppers quickly find products for sale. GB spiders the Web to find products, but sending a data feed will ensure inclusion, and its free to list.   https://www.google.com/base/welcome?conturl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fbase%2Fbulkuploads%3Fhl%3Den&gsessionid=tGKqvjMEuW0

6.   Jellyfish-   A product comparison and search site which shares cash back options with users to allow merchants to improve their listings and for buyers to reduce their cost.   http://www.jellyfish.com/merchantInfo

7.   Nextag.com-   It is a comparison shopping site for products and services. NexTag's fees are based on traffic and performance. You pay when a qualified referral is sent to you. You control how much you pay per lead, and the more you pay the higher you rank in the listings; however, registration and listings are free.

8.   Price Grabber-   PriceGrabber is one of the fastest growing comparison shopping sites. Merchants can upload products in bulk even without a website.  It is a great option for any download only users trying to get started selling dropship products online. https://partner.pricegrabber.com/mss_main.php

9.   Shopping.com-   Shopping.com showcases allows consumers to compare products, prices, and stores using millions of consumer reviews and ratings.  It is similar to Shopzilla.  It is a CPC based solution.   https://merchant.shopping.com/enroll/app?service=page/PartnerWelcome

10-   Shopzilla-   There is a large record of customer ratings for the merchants, based on BizRate surveys. Shopzilla provides bidding and reporting tools to allow merchants to pay for leads on a cost-per-click basis and change the price-per-click you pay as often as they want.   http://merchant.shopzilla.com/
