How to use the download files to manage your inventory in your Vendio account.First verify you have Vendio's Sales Manager Pro. This is your best tool for loading products to your Vendio account.
Step by step instructions: 1. Download "Vendio S. M. Pro CSV" file and image zip files. Download Inventory Source product file in the "Vendio S. M. Pro CSV" format from the File Download page of your account.
If you have not already added the images to Sales Manager Pro for the products you are about to import, you should get the images "zip" file now. Download the appropriate zip file of images. They are available at the bottom of the file download pop-up window. Image zip file will be needed in step #5.
2. Open product file. Open the downloaded product file in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet application.
3. Edit product file. The following changes can also be made product by product once the file has been imported. A. Delete any products you do not want imported in to Vendio. B. The "Starting Bid" column is filled with a "sample" retail price. Please adjust the "Starting Bid" and "Reserve" (if applicable) to reflect your pricing decisions. Your cost is given in the "Item Cost" column. C. Enter values in the "Ship 1 Carrier" and "Ship 1 Amount" to represent the shipping method (UPS Ground, USPS First Class, etc.) and the flat dollar amount you will charge for shipping. The item's weight is given in the "Weight" column. If you would like to add information for a second shipper, simply add the columns "Ship 2 Carrier" and "Ship 2 Amount". D. If you would like to categorize the products at this point, you may enter the category ID for the marketplaces you are categorizing. E. Save your changes (save as type .csv and not as an excel file).
4. Open Sales Manager Pro.
5. Add images to Sales Manager Pro (only once!) Unzip the file of images in to a folder. At the bottom of the Sales Manager Pro window, there is a section for images. Click on the "Add Image" button which looks like a little grey square with a green asterisk. Browse to the relevant unzipped images folder and select all the images (IGNORE images which start with "t_", these are thumbnails). If there are too many images to successfully add them in one shot, you may need to add them in bunches. Smile, you will only have to do this step once!
6. Important note about importing products. Vendio treats each product imported as a new unique product and NOT as information with which to update current information. For that reason, you need to delete products before importing or your import will result in multiple instances of the same product. For this reason, they will get imported in to a folder which you can delete before importing the next batch.
7. Delete products which will be replaced. The first step to Import is to open the Inventory Manager and delete all currently listed products for which you are about to import (if any). These will be replaced by the new import.
8. Open Inventory Importer A. In "Tools" menu, select "Inventory Importer". B. Import file of type "Text file - Comma separated fields". C. Next > D. Hit the "Browse..." button and select the file you edited in step #3. E. Next >
9. Field Matching If you have not previously saved a matching (see step #10), match up the following fields. Leave other mappings blank, they are just for your information. (Ordering may vary) - Folder -> Folder - SKU -> SKU - Title -> Title - Description -> Description - Starting Bid -> Starting Bid - Reserve -> Reserve - Item Cost -> Average Item Cost - Quantity Available -> Quantity Available - Image -> Image - UPC -> UPC / ISBN - Ship 1 Carrier -> Shipping 1 Carrier - Ship 1 Amount -> Shipping 1 Amount - Weight -> Weight - eBay Category ID -> Category eBay - Amazon Category ID -> Category Amazon - Yahoo Category ID -> Category Yahoo
10. VERY IMPORTANT!! A. Select to: Start import from record 2
B. In the box next to "Use field matching association:", type in a name such as "Inventory Source Import" to save the file mappings and then check the box.
The next time you import, simply select the previously defined matching.
11. Click "Finish" to import file! |
